Twitter Was Built For Business / It is a Business Tool
Businesses need to advertise, advertise the products they sell and the services they provide. Good old fashion business logic: if the customer doesn't know they cannot buy. And people want to know, that is why "search" on the Web is popular. It will direct the searcher to the site that best meets the criteria under a given circumstance. The technology of the 21st century, the Internet, the Web, Social Networking and the Social Media have changed how people find the products or services they require, but where do businesses advertise and why. If Print Radio and Television is the where, the why would probably give us the answer: "Because that is what they have always done". File this under Sociology, the study of human behaviour. As individuals the owners of the bricks and mortar stores go on-line to search and find, but how many of these same business owners think of placing their business (correctly) online so that people can search and find. I am sure they think about it and consider it a worthwhile exercise but there are barriers They have always placed advertisements in the Yellow Pages because it is easier to write out a cheque. The Newspaper or Radio rep calls and tells them about the deals. The ads look pretty and the jingles sound good and the accountant said set aside money for advertising. Plus they have no idea about the Web or Websites or Search Engine Optimisation. It's not the business they are in. So they stick to something they know, a case of Sociology being outpaced by Technology But this Technology permits each and every business to be there own advertising agency. To reach out directly to the people who are interested in their products and services. Forget the fancy fonts, the pretty pictures, the catchy jingles, people want information. Although classified are not designed to be pretty they are designed to communicate. To advise within a few words the products or services offered by a business. And this why Twitter was built for business, within a few words a business can advise on-line to an audience of followers what they have for sale and how they can assist the prospective purchaser. And they can do it in real time themselves, there is no need to rely on anyone else, it is classified advertising on steroids. And what does the person in business need to know or do to accomplish this, simply turn on a computer, type and tweet or send a text message with a mobile phone to Twitter And if you want to provide the customer with pretty pictures and information about all the wonderful products and services you have, you have the option of placing a link to your website Power is now back in the hands of the business owner. The business advertising tools of the 21st century exist. No wonder the enablers of the 20th century are worried. Business people you have the power to be your own advertising agency now.
