Meat Loaf
Meatloaf recipe a reliable meal
Ingredients
500 g mince
500 g sausagemeat
1 onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, crushed
1 egg
1 cup grated carrot
1/2 cup chopped parsley
2 teaspoons prepared mustard
2 teaspoons mixed herbs
1 teaspoon salt
black pepper
Topping
2 tablespoons Fleming's rolled oats
1 tablespoon brown sugar
2 tablespoons tomato sauce
1/4 cup chopped parsley
Preparation
Combine mince, sausagemeat, onion, garlic, egg, carrot, parsley, mustard, herbs, salt and pepper to taste
Mix well
Press mixture into a 22 cm loaf tin
Spread with prepared topping
Cover with foil and cook at 190°C for 30 minutes
Remove foil and cook for a further 30 minutes or until juices run clear when tested with a skewer
Pour off any fat
Serve hot or cold
Topping
Combine all ingredients.
Serves 8 -10
