Chicken Delicious
Making a Roast Chicken taste delicious, add apple, onion, bacon and tomato
Ingredients
No.8 chicken
2 teaspoons oil
2 cups apple juice
30 g packet cream of chicken soup
1 large onion, chopped
1 green pepper, sliced
2 tomatoes, blanched and chopped
2 rashers bacon, diced
1 tablespoon Edmonds Fielder's cornflour
1 tablespoon water
Method
Rub the skin of the chicken with oil
Roast chicken at 180°C for 40 minutes
In a saucepan heat apple juice slightly
Add soup mix and dissolve
Pour this over chicken
Add onion, pepper, tomatoes and bacon
Return to oven and cook for a further 45 minutes or until juices run clear when tested
Baste occasionally during cooking time
Place chicken on a serving dish
Mix cornflour and water to a smooth paste
Bring the cooking liquid to the boil on top of stove
Add cornflour mixture and cook until sauce boils and thickens
Pour over chicken before serving
